Leadership Team

Gregg Hamann
President
Gregg has spent the last forty years as an Industrial and Commercial Real Estate Contractor and Developer in Southern California, specializing in green building. His zero-carbon footprint, concrete house in Julian called “StoneHaven,” won the 2015 ACI Award for Excellence in Construction. Gregg has also been the founder and/or part Owner of numerous other businesses including an aluminum extrusion company, a surgical glove manufacturing company and various food-related businesses. He has numerous business interests in Mexico and East Asia.
Gregg has been a member of the International Palm Society since 1990 and his 1.5 acre garden in El Cajon boasts around 600 species of palms and cycads from all around the world. His interests include music (oboe, English Horn, piano and harp), scuba diving, underwater photography, hiking (with an emphasis on native plants) and travel.

Matthew Sanders
Chief Operating Officer
Prior to joining Hamann Companies Matthew spent 10 years focused on Management Consulting for numerous Fortune 100 companies working in more than fifteen countries around the world. In 2014, Hamann Companies purchased a $150MM+ national food distribution company and asked Matthew to serve as the Chief Operating Officer (COO). Matthew stabilized operations and reduced expenses by $4MM annually, helped double sales to $300MM. In 2017, the Hamann’s asked Matthew capitalize upon his business success and use his skills to serve as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Hamann Construction. Matthew has a degree from Baylor University in Finance and Operations Management and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Matthew previously served on the board of the University of San Diego Supply Chain Institute.

Paul Giese
Vice President and Chief Architect
Paul has been with Hamann for 25+ years. Paul has shown an acute ability to render a client’s needs in a concise, cost effective manner and to capably present those concepts both verbally and graphically. He works to coordinate the project team: clients, other architects, sub- contractors and government agencies to complete projects on time, within budget and to the fulfillment of the client’s needs.
Paul Giese has been in continuous practice as an architect since graduation from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in June of 1980. He has served variously as project designer, project manager, job captain and project architect. His work experience includes programming, design, construction document preparation and construction administration for light manufacturing, office, religious, educational, research & development and warehouse facilities. Space planning experience includes large scale planning and facility re-use for major San Diego area telecommunications firms along with manufacturing facilities and corporate headquarters.
ESTIMATING

Mario Lopez
Lead Estimator
Mario has been with Hamann for 15+ years as a Journeyman and Lead man completing and running 20+ projects. Mario was promoted to Hamann’s Estimator and coordinates all estimating and bidding. Prior to Hamann Mario served 8 years in the Marine Corps working in multiple countries.
New Construction Division

JAKE RICHARDS
Division Manager
Jake has spent time in every field in the New Construction division from apprentice, carpenter, foreman, superintendent, estimator, and project manager. He is able to leverage his field experience in creating cost savings for Hamann Clients and driving projects to completion. Jake is also an entrepreneur with a successful tax business and a veteran in the US Army as an Airborne Combat Medic.

LUKE MCGRATH
Division Manager
Luke has managed over $100 million in construction renovation and previously worked for the largest privately held property management company in California. He has an MBA with emphasis in Finance. In his spare time he enjoys surfing, hiking, and spending time with his wife.

BOB STOUT
Superintendent
Bob’s brother introduced him to construction working for a tilt up contractor in Orange County in June 1978. Bob has been in the trade for 42 years, beginning his 5th year at Hamann. Bob is one of Hamann’s most senior superintendents with over 120 buildings and 5.5 million sq/ft built under his leadership. Bob was a 2012 Tilt Up Achievement Award Winner and has a degree from University of California Santa Barbara in Environmental Biology. He strives to continue to help younger technicians gain more knowledge while hoping to finish my career at Hamann.

FRANKIE IBARRA
Superintendent
Frankie got a scholarship for baseball and graduated with a degree in Sports Medicine. While he had a variety of options, a sibling who was a superintendent with Hamann piqued his interest. Frankie joined and has been with Hamann for 15 years. Frankie’s diligence and focus on excellence always leave clients extremely pleased with his work.

TYLER CROUCH
Superintendent
Tyler’s Dad introduced him to the trade and he joined the carpenters union and Hamann Construction in 2005. After 13 years of work he achieved his goal to become a Superintendent. Tyler is a great technician that piloted out a new and more efficient way for Hamann Construction to execute their paving pours.

FRANK VALDEZ JR.
Superintendent
Frank has been in the trade and with Hamann for 16 years. He runs and manages all concrete pours under Hamann’s purvey.

Victor Lopez
Victor’s construction experience spans almost 15 years. His proven delivery and execution made him a prime candidate for a leader and is one of Hamann’s Superintendents.

TEMO FUENTES
Superintendent
Temo has 18 years of experience in the trade and has been with Hamann for 17 years. He has a million+ sqft in his career.

RICK CERVANTES
Superintendent
Rick has 21 years in the construction industry and has been with Hamann 5 years working as a foreman
and then superintendent. Prior to joining Hamann he ran a precast facility. Outside of work Rick enjoys
time with family and recently became a proud grandfather.

TERRY VILLARINO
Superintendent
Terry started at Hamann in 1990 as cement mason. He completed his apprenticeship here then moved onto other companies but returned to Hamann in 2012 as a carpenter. After returning, he gained experience in carpentry and became a superintendent. Terry has completed 8 projects. Outside of work Terry enjoys trips to the beach, hiking, and off roading.

Eddie
Superintendent
Eddie has been working with Hamann for 25 years. He joined on the advice of his uncle and mentor, Jose Moran. While Eddie has run numerous projects and enjoys seeing the finished product, his greatest satisfaction comes from training new leadmen and Superintendents. Eddie was blessed to have great mentors and he wants to keep passing down the knowledge and continue to learn as our industry evolves.
Office Team

Amanda Rowland
Finance and Office Manager
Amanda has 17 years of experience in Payroll/HR/Accounting, 7 of which were under the Hamann umbrella of companies. She now serves as Hamann Construction’s Manager of Finance and oversees all back office duties.
For fun Amanda enjoys going on national park road trips with my two boys and husband.

REBECA MULLEN
Architectural Coordinator
Rebeca coordinated permits and drafted plans for Hamann’s Tenant Improvement Division for 18 years. Recently Rebeca moved into Hamann’s Architectural division to help Hamann’s in-house architect in developing plans and coordinating all phases of the project from design to permits, and the construction phase. Being the daughter of an architect, she always loved reading architectural magazines, and enjoyed looking at wonderful buildings. Now she gets to be part of the action!

MARNI JACKSON
Receptionist
Marni has 25+ years in administration. What she enjoys most is being able to support the staff in various ways throughout the day. During her free time, she enjoys visiting her two grandchildren in Washington State, walking, hiking, travel, and adventures.

LYDIA KNAPP
Accounts Payable Administrator
Lydia runs Accounts Payable and takes pride in making sure Hamann’s subcontractors and venders AP needs are met in timely manner.
SOLAR & ELECTRICal Division

RICH ANDERSON
Vice President
Rich Anderson joined Hamann Construction in 2002 as an electrician’s helper. He quickly worked is way up to a lead position, foreman, then superintendent. He is now electrical division manager and oversees all aspects of the electrical and solar departments which include design, estimating and project management. Rich’s vast knowledge of the field and real-life application of electric in the field makes him a key component to Hamann’s ability to produce cost effective methods of electrical installation and design. Rich holds a California State Electrical Contractors license and is a California State Certified Lighting Controls Acceptance Technician (Title 24).

DERWIN CHANG
Electrical/Solar Superintendent
Derwin started wiring track homes for his stepdad right out of high school. He has been in the trade for 36 years and with Hamann for 22 years. He is an early bird and usually first in the office at 4am. Derwin is an Electrical & Solar Superintendent and manages a variety of special projects for Hamann. His goal would be to retire at Hamann or work for one of their many other businesses.

JOEL HUNTER
Electrical Foreman
Joel has been in the trade for over 10 years, 8 of which were with Hamann. In addition to being a Superintendent, Joel is also learning estimating for the Electrical Division. His goal is to able to build his own house someday.

LUKE LUNSFORD
Electrical Superintendent
Luke was intrigued by anything electrical since he was 6 years old. That’s also the age he learned to always unplug things before working on them having been shocked by a fan motor he was taking apart. Since hiring on with Hamann in 2007 he was able to take his hobby and make it a career.
Luke has a lovely wife and 2 dogs that are basically his kids. Luke served as a sergeant in the Army and is a combat veteran. He enjoys the desert, riding bikes, fabricating anything and everything and after 30 years since his first shock, still enjoys taking things apart in his spare time.

MARIO GOMEZ
Electrical Foreman
Mario got started in the trade 22 years ago via way of his father. He has been with Hamann 5 years. As a foreman for the electric team Mario manages jobs ranging from new construction to building rehab and maintenance.

MICHAEL ANDERSON
Electrical/Solar Design
Michael leads the Electrical and Solar design for Hamann. He has a for photography and videography and hopes to start a professional company for video production in the future.

MIKEE ELLIS
Solar Foreman
Mikee started as an apprentice with Hamann and is now a foreman for the Hamann Electrical and Solar department. Mikee’s scope of work has involved in hundreds of small tenant improvements to entire business parks. When not working Mikee enjoys cooking and trying to create new and exciting dishes for everyone to share.

RICH GOMEZ
Electrical Foreman
Rich has 20 years in the Electrical Industry and 6 years with Hamann. Excellence is what he always strives for and he was drawn to Hamann’s core values. Rich is a foreman for the electrical team and manages
jobs ranging from new construction to building rehab and maintenance.
Rich has a beautiful wife, 5 incredible children and 2 amazing grandchildren. He is a family man and enjoys getting away to the desert to dirt bike, kayak fishing and spending time in the lazy river.
TENANT IMPROVEMENT Division

Aaron Armstrong
Vice President of Tenant Improvement
Aaron’s as Vice President of T.I. is to focus on project sales, delivery, and development of both our people and processes. This includes being a steward of Hamann’s finances, generating a clear and informative communication to Hamann’s partners, along with developing relationships to support the history and future of the Hamann brand.
Professionally Aaron have been involved with process improvement for 20 years, with an emphasis on people development and value creation over the last 7 years, and is fortunate to be able to bring these concepts to Hamann. Aaron has worked under the Hamann umbrella since 2012 and started working in the Tenant Improvement Division in June of 2019.
Aaron’s goals are to sustain and enhance the relationships that have been established over the history of Hamann Construction, along with providing excellent service to Hamann’s project partners. The T.I. team would like to continue to grow the portfolio of work and showcase the vast variety of skills, talents, craftsmanship and final products of each project as seen on Hamann’s website.
Some of Aaron’s interests outside of Hamann are saltwater fishing, particularly in Bahia De Los Angeles, B.C. Mexico. Aaron is also a certified Canine Specialist and very much enjoys training dogs and their handlers. Family camping trips and traveling are at the top of his list for annual getaways and are great ways to recharge and reset.

AARON ORMAN
Superintendent
Aaron has 23 years of experience working in a variety of trades. Aaron has been with Hamann Construction five years as a Superintendent for the Tenant Improvement Division and manages projects ranging from 500 sq/ft to 50,000 sq/ft.

JOSE LIRA
Superintendent
Jose has been in construction for over 25 years. He started in the custom home business as a carpenter then becoming a foreman. Jose has been with Hamann Construction five years as a Superintendent for the Tenant Improvement Division and manages projects ranging from 500 sq/ft to 100,000 sq/ft.

MARK ROHRER
Superintendent
Mark started his construction career by shoveling gravel as a laborer, then carrying lumber. An older carpenter told him to buy some nail bags and he wouldn’t have to carry so much lumber. Mark bought the bags, became a carpenter, a superintendent, and then project manager. He started in the construction trade in 1987 and I has been with Hamann for 25 years.
A fun fact about Mark, he was a paper boy in 1984 for the Daily Californian and they were located in what is now the Haman Office on Pioneer Way. It’s possible that I will say that I started and finished my career in the same building. Mark desires to honor God in his work.

ALFONSO DELGADO
Superintendent
Alfonso was in the Navy as a diesel mechanical for a year and a half then he decided to get into construction in 2006. He joined Hamann as a carpenter foreman and worked his way up to be a supernatant for the TI division. Alfonso enjoyed Hamann’s Julian house project the most and is consistently working at Jensen meats on plant-based production tenant improvements. Outside of work Alfonso enjoys time with family and loves to work on old cars. His current project is a 61 chevy Apache.

JOSE MORAN
Superintendent
Jose started working for Hamann construction in 1995. In 2009, following the steps of his mentor Joe Graves, Jose became a superintendent. Since becoming a superintendent Jose has lead 20+ projects for both new construction and the TI division. Jose is happy to say that Hamann construction has been able to keep him busy and challenged with new projects for the last 26 years, which says a lot about Hamann Construction as a company.
